Alastair is associate director at the Academy of Ideas, where he coordinates planning and programming for the Battle of Ideas Festival. He is secretary of the boi charity and convenes their residential school, Living Freedom, which allows 18- to 25-year-olds to explore the meaning and ideals of freedom.  Alastair is an experienced cultural programmer working on festivals, exhibitions and curated programmes in the UK and internationally. He is co-director of Future Cities Project, and was co-editor of The Lure of the City (Pluto Press, 2011) and The Future of Community (Pluto Press, 2008).
