Aleksandra Karkowska and Barbara Caillot first met at Sadyba in Warsaw. They both love travels, photography, and books, and they both are social activists. Combining their passions and strengths, they are looking for stories stored in their heads, relive relevant memories, and pass them on. In 2015, they launched Oryginały publishing house. They have written the intergenerational books Banany z cukru pudru (2015), Na Giewont się patrzy (2016), Mewa na patyku (2019), Marsz, marsz Batory (2019), and a series of interaction workbooks Babciu! Dziadku! Proszę opowiedz mi!, Notatnik wakacyjny, Na Gwiazdkę, Zeszyt tatrzański, and B jak Batory. They write, organise meetings, and run workshops. They both are certain that knowing your roots helps consciously and creatively act in the contemporary world.
