Working for the department of drama and old English literature at the University of Lodz, Michał Lachman specialises in the history and the theory of contemporary theatre and drama in Britain. He is the author of Brzytwą po oczach. Młodzi doświadczeni w angielskim i irlandzkim dramacie lat dziewięćdziesiątych (Cracow, 2007) and Performing Character in Contemporary Irish Drama (Palgrave, 2018), the editor behind the anthology of contemporary Irish drama Polityka, historia, tożsamość (Cracow, 2009) and the collection of Frank McGuinness’ works Wspomnijcie synów Ulsteru i inne sztuki (including: Innocence: the life and death of Michelangelo Merisi Caravaggio, Mary and Lizzie, Observe the sons of Ulster marching towards the Somme, Someone who'll watch over me, There came a Gypsy riding) (Warsaw, 2012), as well as the translator of William Hogarth’s Analysis of beauty (Gdansk, 2008), Eli Rozik’s The roots of theatre: rethinking ritual and other theories of origin (Warsaw, 2011), and dramas by Billy Roche, Christina Reid, and Frank McGuinness. He collaborates with the Dialog monthly.
