Tom Jones

Winning the Best Picture Academy Award, it is a story of the adventurous Tom Jones known from Henry Fielding's classic novel The History of Tom Jones from 1749. Born out of wedlock, Tom Jones (starring Albert Finney nominated for Best British Actor) is raised by a wealthy aristocrat, Squire Allworthy (George Devine), who treats him the same way he treats his nephew Blifil (David Warner). Tom is well-liked and grows up to be very popular with women. His fondness for the opposite sex and the hatred from Blifil make it necessary for Tom to leave the house he had been raised in.
