Ntailan Lolkoki grew up in a village near Barsaloi in the north of Kenya. When she was 12, she was circumcised following the tradition of her tribe. Living in Berlin, she is involved in The Desert Flower Center opposing violence against women and the female genital mutilation practices. She described her experiences in Fluegelfuer den Schmetterling (Polish translation by Bartosz Nowacki for Prószyński i S-ka).
